There is no such thing as “the” Chinese economy. There are, in fact, two economies.
One comprises the modern, dynamic manufacturing sector that features constantly in tech coverage and over which people fawn for often different reasons. This economy is about China’s successful electric vehicle, battery and solar/wind manufacturing, other products and processes, and, of course, artificial intelligence.
